sauce? Besides the obvious, of
course! I must say, it is labor
intensive, but the end result is worth it.
I spent last weekend making homemade tomato sauce,
with the help of my best friend. We
started with…
We cored, we scored, we peeled, we chopped…
That's my friend who helped me make the sauce. I love her!
And voila! Sauce!
Sunday I canned the sauce…
A trash can of tomato parts…
And a new use for the box the canning jars come in...

What is your favorite recipe that uses tomato sauce? Would you ever try to make your own?
Awesome!... I would love to can, my mom and grandmother did, but I am so afraid of doing it wrong and botulism. My mother used to prepare/can spicy chili tomato sauce.. so good!... I wish I could prepare that. She didn't have a recipe for it.
ReplyDeleteIt's easier than you think. I was afraid to try it at first myself but had a batch of jam turn out great. You just have to make sure you process the jars for the amount of time the instructions give.
